Komodo Dragon Clans' Space
The HME Pride dropped out of light speed in orbit above Komodo, the Dragons' homeworld. Bishop Antje Lieke had been reading up on the Dragons during the months of travel since he had left Divinity on this exploration. From what information he had gotten from the traveling priests, the Dragons' were much like the Malikai in the fact that they evolved on a desert planet and that some of the aggressive tendencies of such and evolution stuck with a people.
They had been less receptive to the ministrations. That didn't mean of coarse that the Church wasn't going to stop trying. The Magisterium was determined to hold some influence over their neighbor so that way the Malikai were protected. There were many tan robes marking the Priests on board that offset his red robes. Antje was interrupted from his reading by the captain letting him know they had arrived.
"Let them know we are here and request a meeting."
The captain acknowledged and Bishop Lieke began to prepare.
C> "This is Captain Nosling of the HME Pride we are in orbit and requesting a diplomatic meeting with representatives of the Monarchy."

A message came down from the ship orbiting Komodo, "This is Captain Nosling of the HME Pride we are in orbit and requesting a diplomatic meeting with representatives of the Monarchy." The dragon at the comms sent the message to one of the few diplomats the nation had at the palace in the center of Varanidae.
Lacus, a young diplomat under Maki Horikita's study, received the message on a portable holoreader. Even before the short data burst had finished playing it's recording the young lady was off to find her mentor. After nearly a half hour of hide and seek she found the diplomat in the library reading, a place where electronic bursts couldn't be loaded into her own holoreader till she left the quite sanctuary.
As diplomats of the Komodo Dragon Clans they were probably among the few on Komodo not to be plagued by the feeling of superiority and willing to talk to, as the majority of the populace thought, an inferior race. Sending an immediate reply, "Captain Nosling of the HME Pride, it would be an honor to receive you here in Varanidae. If you could land at the Palace Spaceport, Dock C we'll arrange a meeting here in the palace." Bowing Lacus cut stopped the holorecorder that Maki was standing on. Condensing the data, she sent it to the orbiting HME Pride.

A small shuttle craft took about half an hour to make its approach from the orbiting Malikai ship, but it soon settled on the tarmac of Dock C (or into docking collars depending on the landing site). Once the shuttled had settled, the outer door hissed out for the disembarkation of the Makai diplomatic party. Every member was robed with most in either the tan of a Priest or black of one of the Molok order. All though followed behind Bishop Antje Lieke in his red robes. It was hard to tell if the Makai were armed though for those flowing robes concealed much about their bodies. Though the Makai had some reptilian features, they definitely also had similarities to humanoids in their stature and posture. Each member of the diplomatic party had a mask over their mouths and nostrils (this being only if their atmosphere is different from that of the Malikai) and stopped a little ways away from their vessel.
If the Dragons' diplomat was there to meet them then Antje bowed his head in greeting. "I am Bishop Antje Lieke, envoy of the Church. As stated in our communicae, I am here to open diplomatic talks with our honorable neighbors the Dragons." He would say in the Maki's hissing tones.
If the diplomat weren't there then Antje would just introduce himself and ask where he could be shown to meet his counterparts.

(OOC: All my planets have air, not sure what your ppl breath. Also forgot in last post to have my ppl speak properly, they are in this post (reptiles have trouble with the S) Request, please ensure to state weather your ppl comply with Lucciola's request. Will try to refer to Maki Horikita as Horikita due to your species being called Maki also.)
As the small diplomatic shuttle arrived at Dock C the magnetic docking collars attached themselves to the craft, and proceeded to move the ship into position allowing the passengers to disembark. As the outer door hissed open Bishop Antje Lieke in his red robes and an assortment of other Maki in tan or black flowing robes disembarked, arriving before Maki Horikita and Lacus were there to greet them.
Antje bowed his head in greeting. "I am Bishop Antje Lieke, envoy of the Church. As stated in our communicate, I am here to open diplomatic talks with our honorable neighbors the Dragons."
Bowing Horikita replied, "It isss a pleasssure to meet you Bissshop Antje Lieke." Gesturing towards Lacus, who bowed towards the Bishop, she introduced her, "Thisss isss my ssstudent. Ssshe'll be presssent during our talksss for learning purposssesss. I hope you don't mind."
Horikita finally acknowledged the two male dragons standing behind her, "Thessse are Khan'sss body guardsss in cassse he hasss time to drop by. Thisss is Lucciola and the other is Mullin." Their weapons were apparent, Lucciola had two swords at his left waist, a katana and wakizashi; Mullin had a rifle slung over his right shoulder. They did not bow to the diplomatic party, their expressions neutral. "If you would follow me, we have a comfortable room prepared."
Lucciola interrupted, addressing the Bishop, "If you're people have weaponsss make them visssible..." after a harsh look from Horikita, Lucciola added, "pleassse." much to his obvious dislike. Maki Horikita then led the Bishop towards cozzy little room with comfortable chairs and good lighting.

[Sorry it was a misspelling on my part....It is Makai not Maki]
The Molok Order Makai flipped their wrists and a mixture of stout blades or pistols fell into their waiting hands. Even the tan robed Priest had either daggers or pistols at their command, more so for their own protection than actually fighting. The only member of the landing party that wasn't armed was Antje. He just folded his hands into the opposite sleeves.
"You have no fear of us. As I stated we are hear on a diplomatic mission."
The Makai party waited patiently to be lead to where they were to conduct business. Of coarse when they were lead off, the Priests pulled their hoods off and in small groups broke off from the diplomatic mission. It was the way of the traveling priests to go off into other civilizations to spread the word of Molok. In their fashion as missionaries, their attempts were to bring more peoples to the Church which in turn gained power and influence as its flock grew.

(OOC: No problem, also seein' as you contacted my people I'll let you start off the actual talkin' of what you want or what's in our two great nations interests.)
Nodding in approval at the Makai's openness Antje's words caused both him to burst out laughing and the stoic Mullin to crack a smile, which looked more like a perverse grin. When Lucciola could finally speak they were being led to the 18x18 room by Maki, "It iss one of our cusstomsss Bissshop, ass you would sssurely know. You wordss, they alone are your weapon, they ssslayed me on the sspot." Lucciola joked, quoting Antje's words to Mullin once more.
The Makai's openness had earned them the grudging respect from the two body guards; they proved that they we're cowardly assassins. The Dragons believed you didn't go anywhere unarmed, the fact that Lucciola claimed the Bishops words were his weapon was more of a statement that although the Makai were an inferior race Lucciola, and his tight lipped partner, could come to accept them to a degree.
When the priests began to break off from the group Mullin walked over towards waiting guardwyrms. Briefly speaking to them they were soon heard laughing a great deal, and went off in twos to accompany the priests, a great deal less reluctant then before. Mullin rejoined the group as the diplomatic group entered the room, which had all four double doors, one set of doors on each wall, open to the warm air of Komodo.
The room had two sets of tables. One table was circular and had seats arranged around it. The other was lower to the ground and resembled more of a tea table. Placed around it were cushions on the floor to kneel on. Maki gestured towards the room, "Pleasse take a ssseat Bisshop."

Antje took a seat being flanked by the few remaining Priests and his escort of Molok Order soldiers. The expressions of the Malikai had remained stoic as the Dragons shared a private joke, even though it bridled them and their aggressive tendancies. It had beenthe flaring of the scales around the Bishop's mouth that kept his people quiet and under control. They all knew the Tribune would have their scales if they displeased the Bishop.
"Being both of Molok's children, the Church and Magisterium have decided to send me to see if your nobles would be interested in a more grounded diplomatic relationship. With that of coarse comes with the possibility of opening a trade route between our peoples."
As it was with the Makai, Antje was direct and straight to business. His people weren't ones for idle words, though back and forth bantering as a test of wits was not uncommon with them when business matters weren't involved. Antje did utter to himself a pray to Molok to guide these wayward children of his to his grace.

The Bishop was straight forward regarding the buisness he was tasked to accomplish, "Being both of Molok's children, the Church and Magisterium have decided to send me to see if your nobles would be interested in a more grounded diplomatic relationship. With that of coarse comes with the possibility of opening a trade route between our peoples."
Sitting across from Antje, Maki Horikita was disappointed in the forwardness present by the Bishop of the Makai. She had after all trained very hard to become a diplomate and her first task with such a forward species wouldn't seem much of an accomplishment. Smiling, without showing her teeth conscientiousof the way it made her look to outsiders, "Well that makesss it eassy for usss doesssn't it." Lacus poured cups of tea as Maki continued, "I beleive it would benifit our nationsss if we esstablissshed good diplomatic relationsss. Of coursse a trade route would be a mussst in ssuch an agreement. What do you purposse?"

"Our requests are rather simple. They just consist of constructing an embassy for communication between our two peoples. Being allowed to construct places of worship for those of your own people that have chosen to see Molok within the sands. And an open trade route of merchants."
Antje new the requests were simple and nothing elaborate. In diplomacy one didn't make large demands to gain influence within their desired target. No things like that were done in small steps. And while those small steps in developing trust between his own people and the Dragons, the priest spread the word of Molok to the populous. Winning over the hearts and minds of the average everyday folk was how the Church operated and it was something that the Bishop knew well. Every member of the Church had started out as a priest at one point in time before moving into the various orders within their religion and the Magisterium.

(OOC: If you want I can write a little something something about the beleifs of the KDC's and send it to you before you reply to this Negotiations thread. You would, of course have had this information at your disposal en route so I don't mind one bit as long as your willing to wait like a dayish.)
"Our requests are rather simple. They just consist of constructing an embassy for communication between our two peoples. Being allowed to construct places of worship for those of your own people that have chosen to see Molok within the sands. And an open trade route of merchants."
Maki listened to Antje's requests. Two were not so unreasonable but she, being a close advisor to the Khan, knew that the upcoming budget didn't have room for the construction of an Embassy* on the Antje's world. The third, regarding religion of course, she knew wouldn't sit well with the Khan or the majority of Dragons who were by nature traditionalists, "Unfortunately I've sseen the upcoming year'sss budget Bissshop Antje and there iss no room for a Galactic Embassssy...but there iss room for a Diplomatic Vessssal that could be orbiting your planet to ensssure ssteady communication." Maki suggested knowing she could ensure that funds were directed to the construction of such a vessel.
"Ass for your other requessssts, we'd happily open trade routess with the Holy Makikai Empire, but the Komodo Dragon Clanss will not be conssstructing placess of worssship for followersss of Molok. Sshould the HME wisssh to fund sssuch venturesss, if Dragonss do sstart believing in Molok, we will permit one ssuch place of worssship on every core world. Sshould this Molok conflict with our own beleifss or ssstirr up disssssent the Khan may very misstake any intentionsss you have choosing to sssolve the problem firssst before talking with your people. Maki stated not claiming the Dragons of KDC had a religion but were steadfast in tradition and hinting at what was common knowledge, that the Khan of the KDC was reckless, choosing to act first and think later, based on what he thinks is right or wrong. Further discussion would be needed for the KDC and the HME to come to an agreement on their diplomatic relations.
*Galactic Embassy states that they, "Must be built on foreign worlds to communicate with them without an Exploration Vessel in orbit. Does not take up a building zone." so KDC would have to build one on a HME's world to communicate without an Exploration Vessel.
